MIAMI, FL, UNITED STATES, September 5, 2025 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The Miami Strategic Intelligence Institute (MSI²) held an event on August 30 that brought together leaders, experts in security, politics and law, as well as members of the academic and professional community.

The main purpose of the meeting was to bring together senior members, media allies and

international liaisons from Argentina, Guatemala, Spain and Peru, in order to consolidate strategic initiatives that will strengthen their presence and commitment to research and dissemination of knowledge on geopolitical issues. The mission is to align an action plan around four fundamental pillars: training, strategic and geopolitical analysis, advisory/consulting (B2G) and public engagement.

Overwatch, a magazine of strategic

thinking During the ceremony, the first edition of Overwatch magazine, published in conjunction with Bravo Zulu Publishers and dedicated to Lieutenant General Patrick M. Hughes, was presented, with a digital launch edition and the print version soon available. A 128-page Spanish-language edition will also be published shortly, making it the first nonpartisan and conservative bilingual (Spanish and English) magazine dedicated to military and geopolitical analysis with an exclusive focus on Latin America. Its mission is to alert about the growing interference of the Chinese Communist Party and leftist movements in the region, offering its readers deep and grounded perspectives on security, defense and strategic dynamics.

The journal combines the knowledge of MSI² specialists to analyze the complex contemporary geopolitical landscape, including the relations and tensions between the United States, China, and Russia; conflicts in Europe and the Middle East; trade and tariff disputes; as well as the challenges that Latin America faces in the face of transnational organized crime and its repercussions on regional security and institutions. In addition, it explores U.S. leadership during President Donald Trump's second term, and covers issues of technology, cybersecurity, military capabilities, and defense.

International alliances and a high-impact

team During the ceremony, Senior Fellow, Founder and Liaison certificates were awarded to various members of the institute, including: Dr. Angel Diaz, Jesús Romero, David Grantham, Dr. María Herrera Mellado, Andrés Alburquerque, Jaime (Jim) González, Joseph Hage, Alexis Torres, Vice Admiral Francisco Giampietri, Dr. Luis Noguerol, Col. Octavio Pérez, Col. Mario Castillo Paredes, Art Estopiñán, José Adán Gutiérrez, Dr. Orlando Gutiérrez-Boronat, Isabel Cuervo, Maibort Petit, Willie Lora, Frank Rodríguez, Sergio Berensztein, Fabián Calle, Pedro von Eyken, Miguel Ángel Toma, Stefanía Bargardi and José Jesús Sanmartín Pardo. These accreditations recognize the contribution of each to MSI²'s mission to strengthen strategic research and education in the region.

Dr. Rafael Marrero, founder and CEO of MSI², emphasized that the event not only celebrates the publication of the journal and the launch of the media segment, but reaffirms the team's dedication to research rigorous and to the dissemination of reliable information.

"This is a space to provide informed strategic analysis, train leaders and raise awareness about the challenges facing Latin America in an increasingly complex global context," Marrero said.

"The Missile of Truth"

The event also marked the announcement of the segment "The Missile of Truth," a weekly multiplatform media space curated by renowned journalist Jorge Luis Sánchez Grass, on the show "Sánchez Grass en América," which is broadcast from UniVista TV on YouTube to Mega TV and Radio Mambí. This alliance seeks to expand the reach of trusted strategic analytics for Hispanic audiences.

The space will feature a rotating panel of MSI² experts Monday through Friday, addressing issues of defense, intelligence, China in Latin America and the Caribbean, law and immigration, cyber threats, and hybrid conflicts. Sánchez Grass also joins the MSI² Advisory Board as Media Advisor.
With these actions, MSI² reinforces its role as a benchmark for strategic analysis in Latin America, combining academic research, professional experience and commitment to security, politics and regional development.
